My Professional Training &
When I entered into post secondary studies I decided to become a psychologist. I made this decision because I care for others and the world we live in. I am interested in how our developmental experience shapes who we are as individuals, and how we come together to construct meaning and culture. I began my training at York University where I received a Bachelor of Arts (Specialized Honours) in Psychology. I then received my Master of Education and Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from the University of Toronto.
It has been my great pleasure to provide well over 30 years of counselling, psychotherapy and assessment services in private practice, community organizations, schools, and corporate settings. During this time I have cared for a wide variety of individuals, couples and groups from a diverse range of socioeconomic, cultural and sexually diverse backgrounds. I have worked extensively in the areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, personality disorders, family and relationship difficulties, crisis management, and career related stress. My associates and I are also trained and experienced in providing standardized psychological and psychoeducational diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents and adults.
As a registered psychologist, I am committed to life long learning and a high standard of care. I participate in ongoing professional training that is evidence based and relevant to the needs of my patients. In accordance with the regulations of my College and the Canadian Psychological Association, I abide by all ethical standards and quality assurance guidelines.
